One of the central Jewish prayers for those who are ill or recovering from illness or accidents is the Misheberach. The prayer takes its name from the first two words: “mi" and "sheberach” meaning, “the One who blessed.” It asks that the One who blessed our ancestors bring about a complete healing for the person for whom the blessing is said. The prayer is for the physical cure as well as spiritual healing, asking for blessing, compassion, restoration, and strength, within the community of those facing illness.
Traditionally, the Misheberach is said in synagogue when the Torah is read. If the one who is ill cannot attend services a relative or friend will mention the person’s name to the one leading services and they will offer the Misheberach prayer. We will be happy to say blessing for your relative or friend. Please indicate if you desire anyone to contact you and leave us a phone number to call you. Please let us know if somebody is in the hospital and is in need of spiritual guidance.
